An Insider's Look at Aiya

A small, sixty-seventy seater restaurant, Aiya aims to redefine Asian cuisine. Since its’ opening two weeks ago, guest have remarked that Aiya is “very elegantly decorated” and that the food was “absolutely delicious.” With a current five star rating on Facebook and a four and a half star rating on Yelp, Aiya strives to and continues to do everything possible to ensure that every guest enjoys their dining experience.

Having newly opened in Frisco, Aiya has caught the curiosity of many people. So, from all of us at Aiya, we present to you this insider’s look: 


DID YOU KNOW? Aiya was designed by 22 year old Johnathan Chen, a current Senior at New York University majoring in Food Studies and minoring in Chemistry.

DID YOU KNOW? Aiya’s logo is actually a Taiwanese dish called zhong zhi, which is made from sticky rice mixed with peanuts, egg and meat, wrapped in bamboo leaves, tied and steamed. 

DID YOU KNOW? The restaurant’s name was chosen for being short and sweet sounding in English, but also because it plays on the sound that many Chinese people make after a mistake: Aiyahh. The name reflects the fusion cuisine created at Aiya, which mixes Asian cuisine with French and Modern American technique.
